An infamous ticket scam had been reported during the 2001 India-Australia match at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa. The Justice Pendse Commission investigating the matter had recommended that all the then members of the managing committee be barred from managing the affairs of Goa Cricket Association (GCA).
